THE PROJECT

EA7 Winter Games was a national retail rollout developed for multi-brand stores across Italy. The campaign translated a winter-sports concept into a modular display system adaptable to different retail environments, from shop windows and in-store corners to central floor displays and larger multi-module configurations.

The installation combined inclined plywood platforms finished with a decorative snow-effect resin, mannequins posed as skiers, optional printed back panels, lightbox graphics and EA7/FISI branding. Store configurations were agreed with the client in advance and mapped across 81 locations before preparation and deployment.

MY ROLE

I supported the Project Manager across the technical and operational execution of the national rollout, working between office, warehouse, suppliers and retail locations. My responsibilities included store surveys, CAD-based layout adaptation, destination-specific preparation and labelling, installation documentation, warehouse follow-up and selected on-site installations.

For new locations, I carried out site measurements and translated real spatial constraints into technical drawings. I also prepared installation instructions and technical dossiers for installers, supported the preparation of materials according to the agreed store-allocation plan, and personally supervised selected installations, ensuring that the final setup matched the intended configuration.

STORE SURVEYS & TECHNICAL ADAPTATION

Some locations required direct site surveys before installation. I personally surveyed Maxi Sport in Merate and DF Sport Specialist in Milan, recording dimensions, heights, architectural constraints, lighting points, electrical outlets and other details affecting the display.

I then translated these site conditions into CAD drawings and technical layouts, placing the planned EA7 elements within the real store environment. This allowed the installation team to work from a clear, location-specific technical reference rather than from generic campaign material.

INSTALLATION PREPARATION & ROLLOUT DOCUMENTATION

The campaign followed two installation routes. Some locations received the display as a direct shipment, while others were installed by our own teams. For direct shipments, I prepared assembly instructions to be included with the packaged components so that local installers could reproduce the intended setup correctly.

For installations managed directly by our team, I prepared location-specific technical dossiers combining drawings and renders, giving installers a clear reference before arriving on site. I also supported destination-specific labelling and material preparation based on the store-allocation plan agreed with the client.

on-site execution

I personally supervised selected installations at four retail locations: Maxi Sport Merate, DF Sport Specialist Milan, Maxi Sport Trezzano sul Naviglio and Game7 Arese. My role was to verify that the installation matched the agreed configuration, support installers when issues arose, document the completed setup and report the final result.

This on-site involvement gave me direct exposure to the gap between technical preparation and real store conditions, where access, missing components or local constraints could require immediate practical decisions.

ON-SITE PROBLEM SOLVING

During the Maxi Sport Merate installation, the packaged display components could not fit inside the service lift. Rather than carrying the full load manually through the stairs, I identified that the packaging — not the components themselves — was creating the constraint. Removing the crate lid reduced the overall size enough to use the lift and move the elements safely with a trolley.

At Game7 Arese, I also handled an installation disruption when the hardware kit had been left at the warehouse, recovering it directly so the team could complete the setup.

FINAL RESULT

The campaign was deployed across 81 retail locations in Italy through a combination of direct shipments and managed installations. My contribution connected site surveys, technical adaptation, rollout preparation and selected on-site execution, helping translate a modular campaign system into location-specific physical installations.
